✦ Who We Are
St. Mary's Orthodox Cathedral, Ernakulam is a parish of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church — one of the oldest Christian communities in the world, tracing its origins to the mission of St. Thomas the Apostle in Kerala in 52 AD.
The cathedral is under the Ernakulam–Angamaly Diocese of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church, and is dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God.
We are a vibrant, multigenerational community of faithful gathered around the ancient liturgical tradition of the Church — the Holy Qurbana, the sacraments, and the rhythms of the liturgical year.
Our parish life encompasses Sunday worship, a flourishing Sunday School, women's fellowship (Vanitha Samajam), youth organisations (OCYM and MGOCSM), and regular feast day celebrations that bring together our entire community.
In 2025, we celebrate our Centenary — one hundred years of faith, fellowship and service to the Lord in the heart of Ernakulam.
